Traveling to see us?
If you're one of our amazing clients visiting from out of state/country to shoot with us or even within Texas and wants a travel guide on where to stay, things to do (besides your awesome session), and places to eat, we have put together a small travel guide for you!
Here are some details based on flying into or staying in Wylie and nearby hotels with close proximity to our studio, or the airport. There are two airports in the Dallas area, but the most popular is Dallas Fort Worth International airport (otherwise known as DFW International).
Our recommended hotels with listed distance from the studio/drive time would be:
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Wylie West: 1.8 miles away, 4 minute commute
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Dallas-Wylie: 1.9 miles away, 5 minute commute
Holiday Inn Dallas-Garland: 8.1 miles away, 15 minute commute
Omni Dallas Hotel: 30 miles away, 40 minute commute
Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Dallas DFW Airport North: 38 miles away, 40 minute commute
Our recommended places to eat while you're visiting:
Shoemaker and Hardt is a popular shop one street away from my studio. Its super quaint, they have delicious small bites and coffee, as well as souvenirs.
Ballard Street Cafe is a restaurant one street away from my studio. If you want a little taste of what Wylie has to offer, this a great spot to try some local food in the heart of downtown Wylie.
Landon Winery also located in Wylie, is the perfect spot to grab a glass of wine (if you're a wine-o like me) or indulge in some savory charcuterie boards.
Saint Ann is closer to downtown Dallas area, they have a great brunch menu and if you want to dress up and be fancy, make a reservation for dinner. They have an outdoor patio with a wall of greenery that's the perfect photo opp.
Happiest Hour is right across the street from Saint Ann, and is one of the go-to hang out spots for drinks and games. They do have a food menu, but this spot is more for lounging.
TNT also known as Tacos and Tequila is one of my favorite places to enjoy some bomb tacos and of course, my choice of liquor. They have an amazing rooftop and an outdoor patio as well as indoor seating. You cant go wrong with any of the food choices.
Legacy West/Hall is located in Frisco which is north of Dallas. It's an outlet style mall that features lots of restaurants both indoors and outdoors. There is ample parking garages and they have a Starbucks Reserve!
Our recommended things to do while you're visiting:
If you love nature visit The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. They always have some type of theme going on in the gardens and the admission is cheap!
Deep Ellum in Dallas is filled with TONS of restaurants on 2 main streets. There is all types of food including: Mexican, Italian, and American. They are also well known for their Murals painted all over the area, and their delicious Breweries.
Visit The Star in Frisco and take a tour of the 91 acre campus of the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters and practice facility. There are tons of restaurants nearby to grab a bite if you get hungry or want some drinks!
If you're a history buff, you can stand on the exact spot that President John F. Kennedy died in Downtown Dallas.
Check out Uptown/Lower Greenville for brunch/dinner or just walk around and shop.
Ride a gondola at Las Colinas Canals just like in Italy! You have your on gondolier sing to you and show you around for at least 2 hours. They also have a package where you can add on desert and drinks.
Please let us know if any of these don't work and we can send over a few more options that may work better for your needs. We'd love to help if you have any more questions or need further assistance with your travels here. Happy and safe travels!
