Embrace Self Love: Why Every Woman Should Book a Boudoir Experience for Herself

In a world filled with societal pressures and expectations, it's essential to prioritize self-love and self-confidence. One powerful way to do this is by booking a boudoir experience for yourself and yourself alone. In this blog post, we'll explore the empowering reasons why every woman should consider this intimate journey of self-discovery and self-celebration. I will share with you some of my own favorite images from my past boudoir sessions and why they were so special to me in that moment in time.

The image below was taken by my talented friend Raquel. She no longer shoots boudoir, but I am so grateful I have gotten to work with her twice. The session below holds a special place in my heart. It was the last photoshoot I did before I got my breast augmentation. I wanted to embrace the itty bitty titty committee one last time. The outfit I am wearing is now a part of the client closet. It is a beautiful red lace set from Honey Birdette— in fact all 3 outfits I wore for this shoot were from there. Worth every penny!

1. Celebrate Your Unique Beauty: Your beauty is one-of-a-kind, and it deserves to be celebrated. Booking a boudoir experience solely for yourself allows you to appreciate your individuality and embrace your body as it is. It's a chance to see yourself through the lens of empowerment and self-acceptance.

The image below was taken by my talented friend Amerika. Not sure if she still has this space in downtown fort worth but it was a dream. We both wanted something simple, yet sexy. I had never shot with a cardigan and hat so I brought it along with this white bodysuit. She had the perfect boho corner in her studio that matched the vibe and this shot ended up being one of my favorites from this session. Its not too revealing but its still giving boudoir.

2. Boost Your Confidence: A boudoir photoshoot can be a transformative experience that boosts your self-confidence. When you do it for yourself, you're taking control of your self-image and learning to love yourself for who you are, flaws and all. The confidence gained extends far beyond the photos.

The image below was after I got my breast augmentation. It was taken by my talented friend Jessica (follow her on instagram at @bodyscapeboudoir_kc). I did this shoot for my golden birthday (I was turning 29 years old on the 29th of november—which is my birth date). I booked a weekend trip to Kansas City, MO… flew out there, did the shoot and explored for a couple of days. It was one of the most memorable and fun experiences I did for myself and some of my favorite boudoir images as well. I did diet and exercise prior to the shoot because I hadnt been able to after my augmentation, and I remember being excited to have pizza after this shoot. The blue lingerie set I am wearing is now in the client closet, it is from Honey Birdette as were all 4 outfits I wore that day.

3. Challenge Societal Expectations: Society often dictates how women should look and behave. Booking a boudoir experience for yourself challenges these norms by saying, "I am enough just as I am." It's a bold declaration that you define your beauty and worth on your terms, not someone else's.

The image below was taken by my talented friend Rebecca (follow her on instagram at @bonnenuitcherieboudoir). this was at the red rocks in the Las Vegas desert. I was asked to model for a big shootout for other boudoir photographers after a workshop. The photographers that asked me wanted me to bring something that was shiny, so I said DEAL hold my bag. I got the bodysuit from Amekana Boutique, the rhinestone tights from amazon, the boots are from Cavenders and my hat is from @rhinestonecowgirl on etsy or instagram and its well worth the price!

4. Embrace Vulnerability and Empowerment: Stepping into a boudoir session can make you feel vulnerable, but it's in this vulnerability that you find strength and empowerment. It's about taking ownership of your body and your narrative, letting go of judgment and embracing authenticity.

The image below was taken by Marissa Boucher owner of @theboudoirdivas and one of my favorite sessions I have done. Once I learned what boudoir was they were the first online workshop that i took and I knew that one day I wanted to shoot with them. I fell in love with their teaching style and their boutique studio. I manifested having one of my own one day. They are located in San Diego California, so I knew that I wanted to do a shoot at the beach with them which they have that as an option in their packages. I went in June and it was still chilly there which I thought it would be hot like here in Texas but I was so wrong! I ended up taking a couple of Honey Birdette pieces for the shoot and then for the beach part I wore one of the dresses they had on hand in their client closet as well as one that I bought from shein I didnt mind getting wet or tossing after. I normally dont like black and white pictures but the one below for sure goes down as one of my favorites.

5. Create Time for Self-Care: Booking a boudoir experience is a form of self-care. It's a few hours dedicated entirely to you, where you can relax, feel pampered, and connect with your inner self. It's a reminder that self-love should always be a priority.

The image below was taken by one of my best friends Anna, who is also a boudoir photographer and videographer @annathecreative if you want to follow her on instagram. We had been dying to shoot with a cyc wall so we found this space in Dallas and just played around. This day I was celebrating my one year anniversary of my breast augmentation as well. The outfit I wore was from Lounge Intimates which I highly recommend if youre wanting good quality lingerie and underwear but not as expensive as Honey Birdette.

6. Preserve a Moment in Time: Life is ever-changing, and your body will evolve over the years. Booking a boudoir session for yourself captures a moment in time, frozen in beautifully crafted images. It's a timeless keepsake to look back on and remember your strength and beauty.

The image below was taken in Las Vegas at a beautiful peerspace location by one of my best friends Eve @simplyeveboudoir if you want to follow her on instagram. There was a group of 6 of us shooting in this space for fun after we did a couple of days of boudoir workshops. I have so many more from this shoot I could share from all the different perspectives that my friends got of me but this one is one that I have hung up on my closet wall that I love so I had to share. The top I got at target and the bottoms are from Lounge Intimates

7. Prioritize Your Happiness: Ultimately, a boudoir experience for yourself is about prioritizing your happiness and well-being. It's an investment in your self-esteem and a declaration that you deserve to feel confident, sexy, and empowered every day.

This last set was taken in a cabin in Waco by my friend Raquel who I mentioned in the beginning of the blog. This was one of the first locations that we shot at that day. I drove in early morning, we shot there and at another space and then had lunch together. It was such a good day, sometimes shoots like these are just needed! I love helping out my friends with a vision they had and bringing it to real life. And of course I love to get in front of the camera as well! The outfit I was wearing was from Lounge Intimates, I loved that it was a beige kind of off white color and comfier looking than normal lingerie.

Booking a boudoir experience for yourself, and not for anyone else's expectations or approval, is a powerful act of self-love and self-acceptance. It's an opportunity to celebrate your unique beauty, boost your confidence, and challenge societal norms. Embrace vulnerability, create space for self-care, and preserve a moment in time that reminds you of your strength and beauty. Ultimately, it's about prioritizing your happiness and recognizing that you are deserving of love and celebration, just as you are.

Boudoir was the unexpected catalyst that breathed new life into my world following a challenging divorce. Through the lens, I reconnected with my own sense of self-worth and rediscovered my confidence. Each image was a testament to my resilience and strength, a visual reminder that I was more than the trials I had faced. This personal journey fueled my mission to empower others through this art form thus me dropping all other types of photography and really niching down to boudoir only . It's a journey I'm proud to share, as it has not only reshaped my career but also my sense of self, inspiring me to help others find their own strength and confidence through boudoir photography.

Of all the differences my clients have they all have one common ground on which they stand...
Every last one of them have had an experience that challenged the way they saw themselves. Some of those experiences rock them to the core— leaving them to question everything they believed as the truth, leaving them to try and make sense of their new normal.

Sis listen closely, you have to stop waiting... waiting for someone else to change your circumstances, the cards you were dealt, your very life. It’s my purpose on this Earth to show you that there is so much power in owning your truth— that you DONT have to be a prisoner of your past— that you are the heroine in your own story. New month, better you, OWN IT 💗
